I have just come across this great application that allows us to play with mp3′s on the phone itself. It allows you to cut them, join them and even edit their tags! Brilliant work!

To cut, just select the mp3 file, play it and press ’5′ to start the mark and ’5′ again where you want the selection to end. Thats it, choose options and press save. A new cut file will be made with the same bitrate and named “…lite” and placed a the same location as the original file. To join, just select all the tracks you want to use and then press cancel. The new file will be saved!

Its a nifty little utility, an almost must have because it also edits tags which the Music Player cannot!

Download!

You have to consider several things:
    - if you want to install the software today, you hav got to set the date back to 2008: Sept 4th 2008 worked out fine on my E90!
    - the application on my E90 was installed on the memory card and not in the telephone device memory
    - therefore it looks for the files on the memory card as well and there in the directories foreseen for storing sounds: this directory is called sound (may appear with different naming in phones with another language than English activated) with the subdirectories Digital and Simple. At least this seems to be the default directory, I have not tried whether it is possible to change the directory.
    - for selecting files press usual menu button (on the front of the E90 it is the left upper buuton next to the “joy stick”. There you can select “cutter”, “join”, “tag editor” and “about”.
    - After selecting the desired entry it will show you to select from “Digital” or “Simple”. These are the directories listed above! Put your mp3 files in one of these directories! In case there is no mp3 file available at all in the directory, the software will only show you “<<<".
    - Select the file
    - a message will appear "import track" and will disappear after some time
    - to start the file press "joy stick" button.
    - to mark the beginning press "2" (not "5" like stated above!)
    - to mark the end press "5"
    - to save the new file press usual menu button and select "Save"
