This year’s Mobile World Congress is really going to be something! There’s anticipation regarding what Nokia has up its sleeve in the Nseries imaging department, E75 awaits confirmation, Samsung’s S60 5th Edition devices becon and who knows what else would we be seeing in 9 days from now.

Delicious. Samsung is fast emerging as the main competitor for Nokia in the S60 space, it is actually not merely competing but setting the bar pretty high if the leaked Samsung Acme i8910 is anything to go by. Not only did Samsung beat Nokia in the race to the 8MP camera, it also seems all set to trump it in getting the first HD video recording capable handset to the market.

The E75 is sure going the E71 way, the handset that got the rare distinction of getting reviewed even before it was officially announced. The world has known about the E75 for ages now and we still await official Nokia acknowledgement, which probably should come at the Mobile World Congress that starts in ten days from now.
The E75 will weigh in at 139 grams and be 111.8 x 50.8 x 14.4 mm in size, no mean feat for a slide out full QWERTY device. It will run on a 1050 mAh battery and pack a 2.4 inch display …

As you can probably make out from the version number, Nokia has rolled out a minor firmware update for a phone I am increasing liking – the 5800 Xpress Music. The update should make the 5800 a tad faster and also quash a few bugs you might/might not have noticed.
Sadly, the update is not available OTA and you will need to turn to the NSU. However, because the 5800 supports user data preservation, it shouldn’t be too much of a pain. Lastly, the new ‘HelloOX hack’ still works if that’s something that concerns you.

Google has rolled out an update for Google Maps and with the update comes a new service called, Latitude. Latitude is a new feature of Google Maps for mobile, as well as an iGoogle gadget, that allows you to share your location with your friends and to see their approximate locations, if they choose to share them with you. You can use your Google account to sign in and easily invite friends to Latitude from your existing list of contacts or by entering their email addresses.
