1.) why is it that nokia e55 has 60mb internal memory while the nokia e51 has it bigger 130mb?
2.) why did they made the nokia e55's internal memory capacity more than half smaller than e51?
3.) what is/are the advantages and disadvantages of these different memory capacities?
4.) what if i have many softwares? where should i install it so it will still run fast?
5.) will that 60mb internal memory decrease/be affected still if i install in the external memory many softwares as much as i like?
6.) what is NAND/RAM for?

i hope to get answers soon. thanks!

I don't think it will "dethrone" the E71. They are just two different class of devices. Is a Volvo station wagon better than a Volvo coupe? No. They might have a few features here and there but they are both Volvos and they just fit different lifestyles.

I have a E71, however no amount of effort will get it to synch with my office server, any ideas please?

Also, I sometimes get the message, 'remove memory card' when there is no memory card inserted?

There's even more: the E75 and E55 both are the first phone's with the renewed mail application. I'm not talking about Nokia Messaging, but I mean the built-in mail application has been renewed totally. Some of the improvements: better looks, better html support, smoother scrolling through your inbox, easier switching between different mail accounts, nicer integration of different services like Nokia Messaging and Mail for Exchange, and last but not least: finally you can replace your emails to another folder (I might be wrong, but I hope that that means that Gmail imap users will be able to put emails in their 'delete' folder, which wasn't possible on a nokia phone until now).

E71 might have better 3d rendering. Also, e71 has more memory. I think I will prefer the E55..... Will e55 have FM transmitter?

About the screen... Is it not possible to just turn your phone on the side and read the messages in landscape with the same view as e71.

I don't see that as such a bad thing when you get a smaller phone instead.

How does the keypad work? Do you actually have to press a key twice to get the other character or is it like with the SE M600i/P1 where you can press the left or right end of the button to type the desired character?

Nice article, Vaibhav. In terms of replacing the E71 (which I've been using & loving for 6 months now, a record for me at staying with one device!) how do you see the E75 against the whole E55/E71 thing?

Mat, I did mention the accelerometer later in the para because I's missed it there. I also forgot to mention that the E55 has a stereo RDS capable radio

Helsie, The E55 and E71 pack the same battery so that's not a win for the E71, dimensions on the E55 are smaller again. Actually, I couldn't find many aspects where the E71 would win!

This is certainly a nice comparison and I must admit: when I saw the E55 announcement my first thought was 'why the .... is my contract running till September 2011???' Still I miss some stuff in the comparison: it seems to focus on the advantages of the E55 and misses some aspects where the E71 would or could win... Battery life/capacity, dimensions, etc. Can you extend the table with more items?

Have been thinking along the same lines. But for me, e55 keyboard seems a downgrade. For the sake of what. Size? E71 is small enough so this is really pointless and shame. Then there's the screen size. Coming from E61 this was one single negative point in my E71 scoring board. Echoing your point, same screen size and portrait one just doesn't do it. On the opposite site of the argument is a feature you missed in the comparison table and that's the built in accelerometer on E55. Something I really missed on E71. So as usual the struggle for a perfect phone goes on.
