The wait for all you S60 5th Edition owners is over, the beta labs has just churned out the latest beta of the Nokia Messaging client for the Nokia 5800 and the upcoming N97. It packs the Nokia Messaging usuals like Push email delivery, IMAP subfolders and mobilizing up to ten mailboxes including Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo! and Gmail.
Some of the highlights specific to the S60 5.0 client include even easier program navigation with support for ‘tap & hold’ contextual functionality …

As we continue to wait for Nokia to extend the map coverage to more than just a few cities in India, Google Maps has taken the lead and introduced Driving Directions in India. The slight negative about Google Maps is that it doesn’t provide voice guided assistance but the fact that it boasts of maps for almost the entire nation makes up for this fact. Also, Google Maps is free – you just pay for data connection.

The Nokia 5800 has just received a new firmware in the form of version 21.0.025, up from the earlier v20.0.012. The new firmware has limited availability so far and is currently only available for following HK product codes – 0575407, 0575408, 0581337.
The firmware according to Nokia Addict brings faster bootup times, a snappier performance overall and for the camera as well. The 5800 features user data preservation so you can update without worrying about your data, however a backup is still recommended.

The Nokia 5800 has been a huge hit worldwide, the sales figures have surprised most people. The first S60 Touch device from Nokia was supposed to be an experiment which would pave the way for the Nseries flagship.
