Hi Vaibhav,

I have the following questions:

1. Will there be a future firmware upgrade?
2. If yes, will there be a significant improvement? like thread messaging, better RAM management
3. Will theme effect be everywhere?

Thanks,

Hi Vaibhav,

Do check out on the outer body of the N97 today. I read on GSM Arena today that one of the users in Singapore had an actual look and feel of the N97 and was of the opinion that:

1. The white is much better than black.
2. Though they are both made from cheap plastics, the black is purely cheap looking with the plastic feel.

Jas, I am really excited about the N97 and in all probability I will end up owning one. However, making an opinion about the N97 prior to playing with it would be a little immature, so I will reserve judgment till the 10th.

I will definitely try and get you loads of content after the 10th.

Thanks for that info.

So Vaibhav... Are you planning to buy the N97? What are your overall thoughts/comments on the N97? .. or you going to share your final comments after the June 10 meet?

For Q7. Can auto rotate be disabled?

Yes, it can be disabaled. Following is the extract from the user manual:

Sensor settings and display rotation
When you activate the sensors in your device, you can control certain functions by turning the device.
Select Menu > Settings and Phone > Sensor settings.
Select from the following:

● Sensors — Activate the sensors.
● Turning control — Select Silencing calls and Snoozing alarms to mute calls and snooze alarms by turning your device so that the display faces down. Select Auto-rotate display to rotate the display content automatically when you turn the device on its left side or back to a vertical position. Some applications and features may not support rotating the display content.

Hi,

My question is more on a particular. Dont know whether the N97 has it or not.

I would want to know if the N97 has an airplane mode kind of profile where-in the connectivity can be switched off but one can still use the mobile to browse through pics/videos/msgs/music etc during a flight journey.

I'm looking forward to getting this device in the US. My questions are:

1. Can I use the Nokia Maps for turn by turn directions while the FM Transmitter is on?

2. Will the US version have the forward facing camera?

3. When creating this device was there any thought of designing it without the keyboard? What inspired you to create this type of hinge?

4. How many pages of widgets does the N97 have?

5. Does the web browser support pandora.com

6. Will the N97 cpu allow me to use Nokia Maps 3.0 to navigate and play music at the same time. If so will the volume of the music lower when a turn announcement is played by the maps program

7. Can auto rotate be disabled?

8. Other than voice dial can I use my voice to open a program or start a playlist?

9. If the menu button takes you to the home screen while an app is open, what does the red button do when you push it while using an program.

Thanks for asking these questions. I look forward to your answers.
