New Nokia E90 Firmware v. 400.34.93 Now Available
Just when you though that the time of the Nokia E90 was over, Nokia have gone ahead and released a new firmware v. 400.34.93 for the E90, up from v. 300.34.84. Details with regard to changes/improvements are thin as of now and the update is expected to brings bug fixes and help make the device faster.
There are updates to Maps and flash, however Maps 3.0 still hasn’t made it to the E90, nor has Ovi integration which we are now seeing on newer Eseries devices. The usual caveats about backing up your data etc apply, remember that the E90 doesn’t have user data preservation unlike the newer FP2 devices.

This new release didn’t upgrade smoothly from NSU. The phone did disconnect from NSU about 4-5 times before I got frustrated and didn’t try to proceed with upgrade. Before that I’d seen the default screen theme in phone and trusted it had really upgraded the firmware up to a point which I can stop and proceed on my own.
I got kind of pure phone, with all familiar factory reset adjustments and then there it was, a pure phone. Restore from memory card and there I was with phone firmware 400.xx.
This firmware upgrade has been PITA all the time during these 2 years that I hope it will get better over time on other phones.
And still, the head newspaper site of my country fails to show the page up. Just before it seems to be ready with it, browser just fails and the browser program exits.
Ten trials already, still not upgraded after 4 hours trying.
1) PCsuite installed six new devices (generic phone, Nokia E90, and so on), each of them failed once or twice before it was actually installed
2) NSU lost connection with the phone; the tips provided (“remove battery, re-connect USB then the battery then the charger, then press ON for about one second”, etc) didn’t help
3) “Remaining time” shows first 8 minutes, then 15, then 14 then 4, but eventually always resulted in the same “connection lost” message.
Also tried to do it with and without the memory card, performed a complete reset (*#7370#), with and without my default language (French) setting, nothing works.
I am tired.
@Claude-Eric Desguin;
Hey
I had the same issue before I upgrade to latest PC suite.
Ps try to update your Nokia PC suite to latest (7.1.30.8).

It’s still unavailable for my E90, product code 0553827.
Both Software update and nokia site say 300.34.84 is the latest.
Too bad if it won’t hit my street.
Why would such delay (or eventual inaccessibility) happen?

i had same issues just kept failing to connect on my laptop and desktop. Finaly did a factory reset using the *#7307# method and then did firmware update again. worked first time.

I had the above mentioned issues 3 times, the connection b/w phone and PC is lost. i done as per the message, like removing of charger, etc. then i switched on the phone to establish a connection b/w phone and PC.After the connection is detected i clicked the retry button and it got installed. while installation the connection with usb will be lost @ many times.try to establish the correction
does anyone know how to reset the factory settings if you do not know the lock code which I do not remember setting in the first place?

friends i updated my e90 2 days back. but now the quetry keyboard is malfunctionong. whenever i open the flap its starts opening nemurous applications. i again reinstalled the application twice but same problem . anybody help plzz
Had same problem with my e90. I had Mail for Exchange all the time looking for new mail. After I turned off MFE it worked fine.
Following Roman’s comment, my E90 will not upgrade above 300.34.84. The product phone is 0553342. Anyone know why I cannot upgrade to 400.34.93? Regarding Scott’s comment, I gave up with MfE and installed Roadsync which works fine. Why a $50 piece of software works and the MS application doesn’t is beyond me.

Hi,
I upgraded my E90 firmware, but now I can not restore the backup I took. Can anyone assist?
Dear All,
I am experiencing the same as Ignatius
I have just done a full backup of my phone, then upgraded Firmware to v.400.34.93 and NOKIA PC Suite to 7.1.40.6.
Now I cannot use any of the backups. Something weird is going on because the NOKIA content copier says that the latest backups is from today but it will not read the file. The latest backup I can open is from 2008.
Any thoughts?
thanks,
unai
