Like I had mentioned, Nokia India on recently conducted a music bootcamp for bloggers to give us a demo on the recently gone live, ‘Nokia Music Store – India’ and also share insight on their plans for the phased rollout of the store. If you recall, Nokia India had previously held a similar blogger meetup with Mr. Axel Meyer, when the N97 came to India and I cannot overemphasize how glad I am that Nokia India has started holding such events here in India as well.

Opera today released Opera 5 Mini beta, the latest upgrade to its hugely successful web browser based on J2ME. The update brings many new features such as multiple windows/tabs, a speed dial, optimizations for touch devices and a password manager amongst other things. But the thing I am most excited about is the ability to copy text from a webpage. This functionality exists however, on first look it will appear as if you cannot copy the text out of the Opera Mini application or into it.

In what should come as great news for those of you who already own the N86 and even greater motivation for those of you thinking of pulling the trigger on Nokia’s imaging flagship, AAS reveals that the next firmware of the N86 will bring ‘Face Detection’ to the device. This mode allows the camera to automatically scan and focus on human faces and should help the N86 notch up even better results.

The Nokia Music Store has only gone live in India a few weeks ago and as a follow up Nokia India is holding a Music Bootcamp in New Delhi tomorrow, which I have been kindly invited to attend. We should hopefully be getting details on Nokia’s plans for the Music Store in India, including the ‘Comes with Music’ service and CWM only (till Q1 next year) devices such as the X6.

Nokia World is ongoing and needless to say we will be seeing a ton on content on the N900. Some of you may have even seen some of it. Based on what you have heard/seen/read or will see/hear/read in the next few days will you buy/preorder a N900? (Pre-orders have already started in some countries).

Alongside the N97 Mini and X3 (S40 handset) Nokia also introduced the X6, a comes with music Symbian smartphone. The Xseries is the rebranded Xpress Music range and you have got to admit the name sounds nice and the X6 looks pretty visually appealing as well.

The Nokia N97 Mini was today made official during Nokia World ’09′s first keynote. The device closely resembles the N97 design with the exception of a 3.2″ touchscreen, a redesigned keypad (no Navi Pad, but directional arrows), no camera lens cover and 8GB of storage v/s the N97′s 32GB. The Mini is 14.2mm thin and the first Nokia device to sport Lifecasting with Ovi – a service in partnership with the world’s largest social network, Facebook.
