Unboxing The N97 Mini ‘Trunk’

Late Saturday I received a very large box from the brilliant folks at WOM World, I had no idea as to what it was but only an inkling that it was part of a competition that me and a friend will be taking part in. With only that in mind we set out to unbox the package, and it took us a full 15 minutes just to get everything out.

I have managed to edit the footage and get it down to under 10 and I have to say it was by far the most fun unboxing I have ever done. I won’t giveaway the contents just yet, but it is safe to say that there were some pretty strange things in there.

As you can see general idea is that the N97 can replace each one of those things, but the fun part is that the five challenges we will need to complete will involve having to use the other stuff and not the mini.

Inside the box was a pinecone that signified a connection to one of the features of the N97 Mini, I have been trying to comprehend what it means for some bonus points, but have come up empty so far. Pinecones are generally used for decoration, so could it somehow link to the N97 Mini’s customisable/personalisable homescreen?

  1. Pinecones open up when its going to rain, so maybe something to do with a weather widget on the N97 mini?

  2. It’s simply a lot of big stuffs you can replace with a mini N97 Mini. It’s simple.

  3. the pinecone is for photos, it’s the only thing that the mini can’t replace… just my guess. but i think it’ll show that the mini has a supreme lens that can autofocus to the details of the pinecone while the conventional disposable negative film camera can’t do.
anyway, how did u get this “trunk”, it’s so cool, i’m so wanna get one of these, it can use to store stuffs away & still look cool at the corner.

  4. Benjamin, its part of the competition and I will have to send it back, although even I’d have liked to have it for all my Nokia goodies! 😉

The idea behind the pinecone is that it too represents a feature of the Mini, since we already have a camera, that doesn’t seem to be the case. I’m just guessing.

Rich, Teleboy, I had similar thoughts about the pinecone’s weather related changes and the impossible bottle trick that’s so famous but somehow an app didn’t seem to stand out as an N97 feature. Does it?

Thanks for the ideas guys, keep them coming! 🙂

  5. Maybe the pinecode figures the further developement of the firmware or the OS or something.. “11.0.045 is just a seed” 😀

  6. if there are no other items relating to the weather, i’d say rich is right. it might represent the weather forecast
