I’m in New Delhi for Nokia India’s Nokia Conversations event which is an industry platform that aims to bring together decision makers and stakeholders from various industries to discuss and debate industry relevant issues and key developments in the telecom sector. Started in late 2008, Nokia Conversations has explored topics ranging from The Rural Opportunity in India to Infrastructure Issues to Monetizing Music Piracy.
Today Nokia India is hosting the 6th episode and the theme is ‘Demystifying 3G for the consumer’ and it is being held in partnership with NDTV Profit.
It aims to help consumers understand 3G better by providing perspectives on different aspects of the technology that directly impact them such as what minimum speeds to expect, what kind of services will be on offer and how different the experience will be compared to what is available today, what to keep in mind while evaluating a 3G handset, privacy and data protection legislations to protect their interests, and current applications/platforms available and future applications in the pipeline among others.
