If you have been wanting to try the recently launched Nokia Music Store India but have not purchased a handset that entitles you to free downloads, there is some good news for you. Hit http://music.nokia.co.in/myn5free to get 5 tracks free from the Nokia Music store. Click on this from your mobile phone and it will open the Nokia Music Store application.
The Nokia Music Store has some exclusive content such as Sona Mohapatra’s (who also performed at the Nokia Blogger’s Bootcamp in Bangalore) new track so make sure you choose wisely. As you may recall, the Nokia Music Store India currently only allows voucher based downloads, so it is great to see Nokia India take such initiatives. Additionally you can also choose from free tracks of the week.
The Nokia Music Store has only gone live in India a few weeks ago and as a follow up Nokia India is holding a Music Bootcamp in New Delhi tomorrow, which I have been kindly invited to attend. We should hopefully be getting details on Nokia’s plans for the Music Store in India, including the ‘Comes with Music’ service and CWM only (till Q1 next year) devices such as the X6.
As you may have noticed, as of now you can only access the music store via a promotional code that ships with all compatible devices. But if you have not bought a device recently and would still like some Music Store action then I have some good news for you.
Nokia India is having a music based trivia on Twitter where you can win promo codes/music store vouchers. The first question’s already out. You can also follow the #NokiaMusicIndia tag to see what other people are upto. Also if you have any questions about the service in India, just put them down and I will be be sure to try and get an answer.
