Nokia Developer Conference Is Happening In Bangalore, November 4

Just days after Nokia World, Nokia India will be holding its annual developer conference in Bangalore on November 4th. Its called Blue Re-volution, in line with the new direction Nokia is taking.

Evolution is the journey that leads to progress. Let’s pledge to join hands and evolve to change the way the world sees us. Let’s evolve to a new world. The world where the journey has just begun on the Windows Phone, where there are exciting updates on the enriching Symbian smartphone platform, and where the evolution of the Java and Web Apps is driving amazing experiences on the S40 platform.

Let’s connect to spread this evolution and mark the beginning of a new phenomenon, a new revolution – the Nokia Blue Re-volution!

This is a chance for all Mobile app developers to live their dreams and re-evolve with Nokia. Participate to access Nokia’s entire portfolio of apps development platforms, solutions & services.

So clearly the focus of the event will be the Windows Phone ecosystem, with sessions about developing for Symbian Belle and S40. The registration is now open and the conference fee is a modest 750 INR. If you’re serious about developing for Nokia, I recommend you head to Bangalore, I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to play with the latest Nokia Windows Phone devices in the very least.

Forum Nokia Transitions To Nokia Developer, Gets A Redesign

The Forum Nokia of yesteryear is no more, and in comes Nokia Developer, Nokia’s brand new portal for their developers across the globe. Along with the change in name comes a brand new design that makes getting to what is important to you much quicker and simpler.

From the post announcing the change:

While this website might look a bit different now, we think you will agree we have made it simpler to understand. Whether you plan to develop and deploy mobile apps using Qt, Web or Java – or if you plan to begin crafting apps for Nokia with Windows Phone – you will notice that it is easy for you to reach any of the mobile development-related resources that you need to do your work quickly and efficiently. As you will see, this is part of an overall movement by Nokia to offer our global developer community a single point of service to design, develop and distribute mobile apps and content to consumers using the latest Nokia phones worldwide.

All the old links still work and any forum.nokia.com link is automatically redirected to the appropriate page on developer.nokia.com.

On a side note, I’m still getting used to the new official Nokia font.
