In 15 hours from now, Nokia World’s biggest and most awaited keynote will start and Nokia World ’09 would have truly begun. Nokia’s CEO OPK Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo and Anssi Vanjoki, Executive VP, Markets will take the stage to talk world domination in the keynote titled “The future of consumer driven mobile solutions“.
In the days leading up to Nokia World, Nokia has already announced a string of devices including the much awaited – N900, the bolt out of the blue – Booklet 3G and the Nokia 5230. A brand new services in the form of Nokia Money has also been announced. While it is possible that the string of leaks has pushed Nokia’s announcements, I have a feeling Nokia has managed to keep something big under wraps that we will be pretty happy to see announced tomorrow.
As far as rumours go, the N97 Mini is all but confirmed, there is also talk of a new naming scheme for devices – Cseries and Xseries that Nokia trademarked a little while ago. Word has it that the Xseries is in all probability the new name for the Xpress Music range. If it turns out to be true, then each of Nokia’s four series’ (C,X,N & E) will have a minimum set of specifications and higher models within them will build on those.
In terms of services, we will hear more about Nokia Money and possible a video store announcement. Lastly, as far as pure speculation goes, I also have a feeling we’ll see something in the imaging department.
Unfortunately, I will not be at Nokia World to get you all the latest from the floor, but fortunately for those of us unable to make it, Nokia will be webcasting the event live, starting 9:00 am CET (12:30 pm IST). Nokia Conversations will also be bringing complete coverage of the announcements, so make sure you keep an eye there as well. If Twitter is your thing, the #NW09 hashtag should do it as well.
What would you like to see announced?
